Inspiration

The inspiration behind 11:11 came from the belief that we can create the universe through prompts, much like we do with AI video tools. Each prompt is a small act of manifestation, shaping the reality we want to inhabit. The story of a young traveler on a solo journey in a distant country mirrors this idea—stepping away from daily life to reconnect with one’s truest self. The journey of the lead character is a metaphor to express that we are, in essence, the creators of our own lives.

What it does

The short film blends mystery, sci-fi atmospheres, and visual poetry to immerse the audience in a night suspended between reality and imagination. It invites viewers to question what lies beneath the surface of the everyday.

How we built it

I used MidJourney for concept art and Veo3 to animate all the cinematic sequences. Extra voice overs were made on Eleven Labs, while the soundtrack is a mix of themes made on Suno and audio effects. Editing and color grading were done in CapCut. Careful prompting allowed us to use most of the generated material, which showed strong alignment between vision and AI output.

Challenges we ran into

Ensuring coherence across AI-generated shots. Balancing visual rhythm with narrative flow. Iterating prompts to maintain aesthetic and story consistency.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I managed to guide the AI tools effectively, using the majority of generated outputs without heavy rework. This meant that our prompting strategies translated directly into cinematic results, achieving the hybrid authorship we aimed for.

What we learned

AI introduces uncertainty and unpredictability, but instead of being a drawback, it became part of the creative process. The tension between human intention and machine interpretation opened new, unexpected creative pathways.

What's next for 11:11

We plan to submit 11:11 to international festivals and continue refining our workflow for future AI-driven projects. The goal is to expand this method into longer-form storytelling, exploring how AI can support not only visuals but also narrative and world-building. The story might actually evolve into the production of a bigger narrative universe, where these characters' "awakening" connects them for a bigger story.
