What problem you are trying to solve?

• Save deposit box is common in people’s house
• Key could be recognised and stolen easily.
• The safety of the password would be strongly decreased if the owner wrote the password down on paper.
• Thieves would come for either a key or password.

Who would use it?

• Anyone who needs to keep something safe in their house and is using a traditional safe box.

What is your prototype?

• Save deposit box (that uses pictures, i.e., colour pattern, as the “key”)

How does your prototype work?

• A colour strip to open a basic lock. The Colour pattern is detected by a sensor. The lock is opened and locked by a motor.

How did you implement your prototype?

• Use Arduino and C++ to implement a safe box locking system with a colour sensor.

Benefits

• No one ever thinks about this kind of “key”, including thieves
• It is probably okay if you just hang the picture (colour pattern) on the wall. Nobody would know.

Future potential

• A more friendly GUI user interface may replace the current command line interface.
