Inspiration
When we heard the theme, immediately thought of what makes humans happy, and that's human connection. So, we decided to create Memory Vault, to allow generations to connect. From there, we thought of the second track, Beyond Language, as a very unique concept, so we thought of ideas, and came up with a game called Silent Frequency in which you have to communicate concepts using shape, color, and sound. Finally, the Personal Diary was inspired by the fact that if you're in a spaceship with the same people every day, you often feel deprived of your privacy.
What it does
Our app has 3 main features which are Memory Vault, Silent Frequency, and Personal Diary. In the memory vault, you can store memories, create new memories, and each memory can contain text, date, year, and attachments. The Silent Frequency is a 2 player game in which you are given a secret concept which you have to represent using 3 features, shape, color and sound, to broadcast a message which is then interpreted by the second player. Finally, the personal diary is a place for you to write thoughts in the form of journal entries, which are then safeguarded by a 3-step-verfication to login. The journal entries can contain a date, a journal entry, mood, a motivational quote, one thing you learned today, what you are grateful for, and attachments. The 3-step-verfication includes a username, 3-digit code and pattern lock.
How we built it
We coded the project on Visual Studio Code using JavaScript. Then, to get more attractive visuals, we imported the code into the platform base44.
Challenges we ran into
Everyone in our group are beginners, so we had to work hard all night, watch a lot of video tutorials, and do a lot of debugging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to code the project and not giving up is something that we're very proud of.
What we learned
We learned how to code in java in visual studio code. We learned how to create visuals, buttons, color and more.
What's next for 0xEarth?
In the future, we would love to expand our idea by adding new features, updating current features, adding difficulty levels to Silent Frequency, adding a way to share your personal diary entries.
