Inspiration
My family was doing a Christmas decoration scavenger hunt. We had to find giant presents, snow globes, chirstmas trees, disney characters.
It was super fun. We drove around in separate cars and chatted on a group phone call.
After my wife and I won, my siblings wanted proof we saw things. That's when I thought I could use loom and google maps to record proof
What it does
Place videos of your favorite Christmas decorations for others to see!
How we built it
I used firebase, aloglia, and google maps. I'd used them in separate side projects before, but never all together. It was lots of fun learning all the different tools
Challenges we ran into
Right before submitting, my build environment (with vite) had trouble, so I had to switch over to create react app in the final hour to get it deployed.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm really happy I got something done and working!
What we learned
Do a test deploy before getting too far along. It sucks to have to change build systems last second
What's next for LoomHack
I want to make it so it handles the entire scavenger hunt and you can compete live
