Inspiration
Our inspiration for Xefers comes from the limitations of traditional link tracking platforms like Bitly and Rebrandly. While Bitly is popular for shortening links and tracking clicks, it often necessitates sharing personal information, compromising user privacy. We identified a rising need for a solution that enables participation in referral programs without jeopardizing data security. By harnessing blockchain technology, we aim to build a platform that allows users to track referrals and earn rewards while keeping their personal information private.

This not only raises concerns about data security but also deters users from participating in referral initiatives. Additionally, existing referral tracking systems can be vulnerable to hacking and manipulation, leading to unfair reward distribution and a lack of transparency. Users are often left unsure about how their data is being used and whether they can trust the platform, ultimately hindering the effectiveness of referral marketing strategies. There is a need for a solution that allows users to engage in referral programs securely and privately, ensuring accurate tracking and fair rewards without compromising their personal information.

The use of smart contracts ensures that referral transactions are immutable and transparent, fostering trust among users by guaranteeing fair and accurate reward distribution. Additionally, blockchain’s decentralized nature enhances security, minimizing risks of data breaches common in traditional systems. With low transaction fees and high throughput from BTTC, Xefers can scale efficiently, making it a robust solution for modern referral marketing that prioritizes user privacy while maximizing reward opportunities.
Working of Xefers
Xefers leverages blockchain technology to streamline referral campaigns on the BitTorrent testnet, providing a decentralized approach to managing and tracking referrals. To begin, users log in to MetaMask and connect to the BTTC testnet, enabling secure interactions with the blockchain. The user then do to Create Link Campaign, allowing them to fill out a form with campaign details such as the title, destination URL, and referral reward. This reward is funded by the campaign creator in either ERC20 tokens or native tokens, which are sent to a contract address to activate the reward system. Once the form is submitted, the campaign link is generated and can be shared across platforms like Telegram or other social channels. (In the near milestone, xefers will support zk-SNARKs, enabling creators to generate shortened links while keeping personal inputs private and proving it on-chain.)
To participate as a referrer, a user with a different wallet address claims the referral link. They confirm the transaction in metamask and are redirected to the intended destination URL. Every successful referral is logged on-chain, giving campaign creators complete transparency into referral performance and reward distributions. As a campaign creator, xefers enables users to monitor referral history and track key metrics directly on the blockchain, ensuring both immutability and visibility, which traditional referral systems often lack. This setup not only decentralizes the referral process but also enhances security, eliminating intermediaries and reducing potential fraud or manipulation.
What's next for Xefers
Looking ahead, we plan to enhance our platform by introducing premium features, such as advanced analytics and personalized support for users. We also aim to explore partnerships with brands to create sponsored referral programs, expanding our reach and usability. Our long-term vision includes continuous improvement of privacy features and potentially integrating with additional blockchains to broaden our user base.
