Inspiration
I really wanted to advance my game development knowledge and reach out of my comfort zone to use new methods of coding and a new game engine that I have never used before.
What it does
So far the prototype consists of a landscape and a firing range with some characters outside.
How I built it
I used the Unreal Engine, which is very slow on my computer.
Challenges I ran into
The engine takes up a lot of RAM and hardware capabilities. I get a low amount of frames, in game, and in the engine itself. I should have tried using Unity or stuck with an engine that I knew like Libgdx.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am proud that I got a terrain that is suitable and I am proud that I was able to add a voice line to one of the characters.
What I learned
I learned many things such as: creating a landscape, working with voice lines, animation
What's next for Zombie Survival (Not finished)
My goal would be to finish the project at a later date and to further develop the game with a system to gain money from killing enemies and buying weapons or fortifications with the money.
