Inspiration

For this competition, we came with an interest focusing on medical reconciliation. At first, we thought of an application that helps patients monitor their medication intake. However, there were multiple applications that already accomplished this goal and more. Then, we stumbled upon a better idea - there was nothing in the market that allows the medical professionals to track the medications and the patients’ response to them, especially those who are prescribed with multiple medications. We also saw the wide gap in unfulfilled services in the mental health area. Thus, we designed health tRX to improve the medical professionals’ ability to monitor the mental health of the patients and progress on the treatment plans.

What it does

health tRx operates by first gathering data from the patient. The data consist of the results from a daily evaluation of the patient’s mental state. This log is then sent to their medical professional who can view a collection of data points in response to the medication(s) prescribed to their patient. However, the patient will not be able to see their past logs in order to prevent biasing of the data. Moreover, in regards to HIPAA rules, we decided that medical professionals solely use the desktop application on a secure network such as a hospital network. As for the patients, the mobile application is the more efficient way to use this application.
