Inspiration

When one of my closest friend adopted his first dog, he was full of excitement… and anxiety. Every bark made him nervous. Every odd behavior sent him back to Google search results.

“I just wish someone could tell me what my dog is feeling.”

That sentence stuck. As a Software Engineering student at FAST and lifelong animal lover, I knew there had to be a better way. So I built VetPaw: your AI‑powered dog coach.

VetPaw isn’t just a chatbot—it’s a real coach that speaks warmly, reads your pet’s mood, checks symptoms in emergencies, and guides feeding and daily routines with empathy and clarity.

What it does

VetPaw is your all-in-one AI coach for dog care. It helps you:

💬 Chat with Lumi – converse with your friendly dog‑care coach (Gemini).
📸 Snap My Mood – upload a photo to reveal your pup’s emotions.
🚨 Symptom Checker – identify urgent issues without endless searches.
🎥 Live with Luna – get live video mentorship from your AI behavior mentor (Tavus).
📈 Trend Analyzer – visualize moods, habits, and health over time.
💎 Premium Insights – unlock advanced tips via RevenueCat.

How we built it

  • Bolt.new for visual, no‑code UI and logic—launching fast in days.
  • Supabase for auth, storage, and real‑time logs.
  • Tavus AI bringing Luna’s live video mentorship to life.
  • Google Gemini powering chat, mood‑snap, and symptom checks.
  • RevenueCat for paywall, plans, and subscriber analytics.

Challenges we ran into

  • Integrating Tavus livestreams inside Expo’s WebView without latency.
  • Designing a playful yet trustworthy UI for sensitive health guidance.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Delivered 4 end‑to‑end AI video live mentorship sessions per user each month.
  • Onboarded 20+ sandbox subscribers within two weeks of launch.
  • Implemented RevenueCat paywall in under 24 hours, including test flows.

What we learned

  • Design for trust: Friendly icons and warm voice make “AI” feel like a companion.
  • Leverage ecosystems: Bolt and RevenueCat saved weeks of backend work.
