Inspiration
I recently went on a trip and my friends and I had a lot of trouble splitting checks every time, so I hoped to create an app that would make that easier for everyone.
What it does
This app allows the user to have a shared list of transactions which lets them and their friends balance their joint expenses, such as during a shared activity like eating dinner outside, or during a holiday vacation, or just between roommates. Users enter their expenses, then the app calculates the balance of each group member and proposes the best way to settle up between themselves.
How I built it
I used React.js and Firebase.
Challenges we ran into
My team was unresponsive so I ended up solo-ing this hackathon. I also had trouble integrating Firebase Realtime Database and Authentication into my product.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I singlehandedly finished this project (including design, implementation, demo and submission) in less than 6 hours.
