Inspiration
We built this for MTU's 2021 Winter Wonderhack Hackathon!
What it does
How we built it
We used Expo CLI and Node.js to generate and run our base application. We created a series of class components for each of our pages and profiles. We referenced multiple react-native libraries, including: react-chatbot-kit for our chat example, native-base for styling components, and react-native-swipe-gestures for swiping profiles.
Challenges we ran into
We were only able to successfully test the app on one android phone (OnePlus 3t), so we developed using Chrome DevTools with responsive device settings at 340px by 620px. All members had very limited react-native experience prior to development. We originally started the hackathon using Android Studio but switched to this stack using Visual Studio Code halfway through development.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our chatbot, the swiping animations, and learning how to create this demo within 24 hours!
