Inspiration
I wanted to tell several stories within this project:
- That we're all touched by art in different ways, but still, art unites us all. The global theme behind this one is that we're all different, and yet our differences are what connects us.
- I wanted to push the technical boundaries of GenAI, building shots and movie scenes that are close to impossible to generate with AI.
- I wanted the movie to act as a broader commentary: Which ending did you like more? The one I wrote, as a human? Or the ones Gemini and ChatGPT came up with?
How we built it
The project started as a collaboration with Rahan Boxley, but he couldn't commit to the time needed to make it work. So I ended up caryring it all alone. I used all the GenAI tools I believe are State of the Art right now, pushing everything as far as I could. I still believe a few shots would have benefitted of more time and of better upscales, but, I've given everything I could.
Challenges we ran into
Most of the shots in the movie are incredibly challenging to pull. Also, I couldn't decide on a satisfactory ending. Hence the idea to have GenAI come up with the endings.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The shots on the sister I believe are incredible, the standing ovation, the musicals in Paris...
What we learned
How far GenAI can take us right now, but I expect the tech to keep pushing much further.
