The Blue Brigade

Inspiration

The key message of our proposal is to improvise and expedite India’s vaccination plan. The implementation of our proposal will be achieved by improving the logistics aspects, working on increasing security of transportation of the vaccines so as to eliminate inefficiency in the system. This will lead to the development of confidence in vaccines and healthcare, which we plan to supplement by showcasing learning modules on vaccines among the rural populations. The aim is to put forth ethical practices and save lives by improvising on policy through live-tracking and blockchain technology.

What it does

Our proposal centers around how we can reduce the inefficiency in the vaccine supply chain and address the lack of health inequity in rural India. The goal of this proposal is two-fold: First, to accelerate country wide vaccine supply to ensure zero fatality rate due to shortage of vaccines. Second, to accomplish health literacy in rural India by implementing local level sensitisation campaigns.

How we built it

For solving the spread of misinformation, we have created a deep learning model to identify whether a piece of particular information is true or not. For that we have used the Bert Model and we have trained it on a dataset with tweets containing information regarding Covid 19. We have Achieved an acccuracy of 90%. For solving the problem of lack of transparency, we have used blockchain. This blockchain enabled solution provides the traceability of your medicine along the supply chain, ensuring product integrity. The application tracks the movement of drugs among the Pharmaceutical supply chain business and involved entities with an intent to identify medicines and tackle counterfeiting.

Challenges we ran into

Blockchain was a new concept that we had to learn. None of our teammates knew blockchain. Thus learning how blockchain is used in supplychain and then integrating it with our website was a big task.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have the blockchain model ready and we have also finished with the Misinformation detector.

What's next for The Blue Brigade

We can increase the accuracy of the misinformation detector using other deep learning models and maybe creating ensembles. We can also try to use more blockchain concepts like smart-contracts.
