I am Ted Blenkers; an experienced ship captain who knows everything about the sea and still admires it deeply every day. The best time of my entire career was when I worked in Alaska as a fishing captain from 1995 to 2007.
This period allowed me to have lots of free time so I captained many research and survey vessels in the US international water, West Coast of Canada, and Mexico. We did a lot of great work from ROV operations, dragging sensors, core samples, and tsunami buoy deployment. We also worked with varies governmental agencies such as NOAA, USGS, US Navy, and many international survey companies.
I tried to remember all the areas where I worked before and the list is very long. My sailing areas include Pacific Ocean, Bering Sea, Indian Ocean, SE Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Greenland, Norway, Russia (Okhotsk Sea, West Bering Sea) Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Myanmar.
If I tried to write all my experiences and what I can do, it will take pages. I just manage the ship completely and know all my responsibilities. Navigation, operating ships equipment, business issues, managing crewmembers, proper maintenance of equipment and following environmental regulations and international laws are just part of the duties.
Of course, some duties are no considered as important as the ones I mentioned such as keeping regular logs throughout the journey and supervising passengers and crewmembers embarking and disembarking the ship. Your ship is in safe hands with me. I am a maven captain by nature. It is part of my character and experience.
