Suntory: The Yamazaki "Aged by Years, Shared in Silence"

Inspiration

The complaint I hear from skeptical video ai generatitive crowd is that these films lacked a soul. So I wanted challenge myself to create something that looked photorealistic and where the characters can be relatable to all audiences.

What it does

The film invites the viewers to recongize themselves in the characters.

How we built it

Brainstormed with Chatgpt on a script and outline. Midjourney to create a moodboard and images. Veo 3.1, Wan, and LTX 2 to animate all the images. Elevenlabs to clean up the audio and Suno for the soundtrack. Then used Premiere to assemble it all together as well as color correction. Then I used FlashVSR to upscale the film which also added some skin texture.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was getting the character to express emotions in the right tone. A lot of generations used simply to get the emotions consistent.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud simply by completing the film.

What we learned

Some ideas sound really amazing on paper until going through the workflow and realize something is missing or lacking chemistry. I feel like this one was a delightful surprised.

What's next for Suntory: The Yamazaki "Aged by Years, Shared in Silence"

I hope to continue building in this world. Adding more characters. Perhaps bars are changing the in the modern era, less of a third place, but I still see them as a central part of the corner of societies where people can be uninhibited and lose themself a little, to fully express their repression.
