Inspiration
We all had an issue with finding houses. Especially, as Drexel students, we often have to move-in and out, but our lease is usually a year long. We either find someone to take over our places for a few months or some places to stay for a few months. So, we created the Sublette where people can easily post their places for subletting and find current open places to submit!
What it does
The Sublette helps you find someone to sublet or places to sublet for a few months. People who are temporarily leaving can list their rooms with some information such as price, location, and how long it will be vacant. Then, people who are coming back can easily look through the properties listed on the website and contact the one listed.
How we built it
We used ReactJS as our web framework and Google Cloud (Authenticator, Firestore, Storage, Maps) for our database management and user authentication.
Challenges we ran into
We wanted to support live message support but we rant into a few issues, such as API authentication issues.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to take user inputs and save them, then retrieve those information to display on the screen. Also, we started incorporating a map so that users can easily visualize the locations.
What we learned
We've learned how to incorporate ReactJS and Google Cloud services to create a website!
What's next for Sublette
Live message support would be great!
