My friend's keyboard looked very new, and so we thought mashing the keys to win would be a good idea!
What it does
It is a game where you choose 1 - 4 players to play (the remaining slots are filled by CPUs) and mash a button to finish the race in the quickest time!
How we built it
We used Unity and C# for creating the game, BeepBox for the music and the classic MS paint for the logo.
Challenges we ran into
There were lots of time when the game components did not work together (e.g. the audio and the Ai moving fast enough relative to the player), but we worked together to come up with a solution each time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
As we are all relatively new to the Hackathon scene, we are proud of being able to submit a project in the first place.
What we learned
We learned a lot about programming in Unity (in AI design) and associated techniques (e.g. music composition and logo design), but most of all, we learned about the surprising strength of our friend's keyboard.
What's next for Speedy Spacers
Include functionality for more than 4 people and potentially with obstacles, so that we have even more reasons to mash our friend's keyboard.
