Inspiration
We wanted to design a bottle that was as functional, and simultaneously creative, as possible
What it does
Our design uses force-sensor technology and wireless interfacing, as well as the help of some intuitive logic, to create a system that actively keeps track and reports the number of pills in a SMART medicine bottle.
How we built it
For this proof of concept, we modeled a pill bottle in Autodesk Inventor, and developed the code using firebase, react js, and python technologies.
What we learned
We learned, the not so easy way, that sometimes things don't like to work in under 48 hours. Nevertheless we improvised and hardcoded things and a few things empty, filled in the blanks for data values that should exist but don't due to the lack of hardware available at the time. All in all, this project is a strong proof of concept with medium level overview and a basic boilerplate set up.
What's next for Smart Medicine Bottle
We plan to physically prototype the design and get our hands on the sensors and their data to get the project working!
