Inspiration

The inspiration stems from a profound observation of our technological age: while technology has made virtual "meeting" effortless, it has paradoxically made genuine, physical "togetherness" a rare luxury. The film explores the human need for authentic physical contact and the urgency of cherishing limited time, especially with the elderly, serving as a reminder against procrastination.

How we built it

The project began with a week of script iteration utilizing extensive multi-round dialogue across multiple LLMs including Claude, GPT, DeepSeek, and Gemini, to define the framework. Notably, all storyboard designs were completed independently by the human creator to maintain artistic vision. Visual content was generated using Midjourney, ImageFX, and Runway, followed by intensive Adobe Photoshop post-processing and Xingliu AI super-resolution. Video generation utilized a multi-platform toolkit (Kling, Vidu, Runway, and Google Veo3), with complex shots fine-tuned in Adobe After Effects, and finalized using Topaz for high-definition upscaling. Audio was professionally produced using Artlist's AI Voiceover technology.

Challenges we ran into

The primary challenge was bridging the gap between personal, abstract aesthetic passion (Chinese fantasy style) and its concrete low-cost, high-efficiency visual realization using AI tools, while ensuring the complex narrative requirements were perfectly met.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully merged continuous AI-driven script iteration with a deeply held personal aesthetic vision, resulting in a narratively satisfying film that authentically presents a demanding Chinese fantastical aesthetic. Furthermore, the short film was selected for the ICME AIART GALLERY 2025 in Nantes, France and the 2025 Osaka World Expo AI Art Exhibition.

What we learned

We learned that AI serves two essential roles: a relentless creative dialogue partner for high-velocity script refinement, and a powerful tool for democratizing complex aesthetics, enabling individual creators to realize ambitious, niche visual styles that were previously limited to large studio budgets.
