Closure due to the pandemic has hit teens hard, so we wanted to create an accessible productivity tool for students who miss studying at their favorite cozy spot on campus. We took inspiration from sites like

What it does

Our website has embedded audio files that play lo-fi and school noise ambience to replicate the school environment. The user can choose which files to play and adjust the volume of each. We also included several other productivity tools, such as a Pomodoro timer and customizable sticky notes.

How we built it

We built the website using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. We collaborated on it using Qoom.

Challenges we ran into

We originally used Repl to build the website, but it didn’t support some of the functions we wanted to use. We moved to Qoom after those complications, but ran into issues with saving the code. Our changes have been deleted multiple times, unfortunately, but will a little lost sleep, we were able to re-code those parts.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the aesthetics of the website, as well as the functionality of the timer and the sticky note. We are proud of how the minimalistic design goes really well with the chill lo-fi theme of the website.

What we learned

We learned a lot about HTML and CSS. We specifically learned about animation through the construction of the Pomodoro Timer.

What's next for Schill: the Sound of High School

We want to add more productivity tools to the website, such as a habit tracker. We also want to add more audio choices, and different interfaces along with the audio options for each location.
