Inspiration:

Our team was inspired by Say Yes Buffalo's mission to create pathways to success for students in Buffalo. We wanted to contribute by helping them track the effectiveness of their social media efforts in attracting hires.

What We Learned:

Throughout the project, we learned about the importance of data-driven decision-making for non-profits. We discovered how tracking interactions and capturing applicant data can provide valuable insights for optimizing recruitment strategies.

Building the Project:

To address the challenge, we built a redirect URL that required applicants to provide their Name and Email before accessing job postings. We securely stored this data and developed a Tableau dashboard to visualize and analyze the hiring metrics in real-time. Emails are also automatically sent to the applicant asking them to update their status with the job application.

Challenges Faced:

One challenge we faced was making all the moving parts of this solution work together, from the database and server to both the link redirect page and the dashboard page. These all work together to provide the solution Say Yes Buffalo is looking for and accurately quantify the data they need.

Another challenge was integrating the Tableau dashboard with the website seamlessly. We overcame this obstacle by leveraging API integrations and optimizing the data flow to ensure a smooth and interactive user experience.

Overall, our journey involved overcoming technical hurdles, understanding non-profit needs, and aligning our solution with Say Yes Buffalo's mission. We are proud to have created a powerful tool that empowers them to make informed decisions and elevate their social media impact.
