Inspiration
The theme of the hackathon was service robots, and seeing as doing laundry is a task everyone on our team hates, we decided to build a robot to make it easier.
What it does
It folds shirts. It'll also play some songs, and it even emotes! It'll tell you if it's impatient, confused, or happy that it successfully folded a shirt!
How we built it
It was built using an Arduino, with several servos connected to arms that fold the sections of the shirt. A light sensor is used to detect if a shirt is placed on the robot, and a speaker plays sound for feedback on what's happening, paired with an rgb LED to show you the robots emotions.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we had enough time to at least make it look a little better than a bunch of cardboard glued together, which is what most of our projects look like.
What's next for PeriFold Machine (PFM)
