Inspiration
The lack of transparency, sustainable development, and action in the recent years regarding climate change.
What it does
By using a blockchain system, countries can have their own wallets to keep track of their carbon emissions. Each unit would represent one tonne of carbon dioxide emitted (tCO2e). As part of the current Paris agreement, countries would still continue to report their emissions. Furthermore, this would encourage sustainable development. Additionally, this provides an intuitive way for citizens to be informed on current global climate change issues.
How we built it
This blockchain system would be built using open source technology, such as Ethereum.
Challenges we ran into
We need to implement this solution.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of how we worked together, hand-in-hand, with sponsors to come up with a solution on how we could enforce the Paris Agreement.
What we learned
From sponsors, such as Chainsafe and Metamesh, and our own research, we learned a lot about Blockchain and its application.
What's next for Paris Agreement Chain (PAC)
We need to implement the solution.
