I just wanted to take my old class assignment to another level. The previous website was very bad – my grids didn't work, the photos were too big, and there were just a lot of other problems due to my lack of basic knowledge.

What it does

It is just a website of my artwork! Although I could easily make an instagram account and post whenever I want to, I think it is much cooler to have my own website and have artistic control of how my art is presented.

How I built it

I used HTML, CSS and a lot of google searches. I built this website from scratch to really learn the different functions of the languages.

Challenges I ran into

I spent the first few hours trying to work off of what I had, but I quickly learned that I just needed to start from complete scratch. Then I spent a good chunk of my time trying to learn grids. My grids kept failing to work the way I wanted them to, but after a lot of trial-and-error it worked! I spent the rest of the time trying to make my website prettier~ which really took my website to a different level~

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm glad that I have a some-what functional website absolutely sleep-deprived~ I could have woken up to realize I was doing nothing productive, but I somehow managed~

What I learned

I learned a lot about HTML and CSS while I was trying to make this website. I learned how get grids and flex box to work and figured out how to effectivly use HTML and CSS together!

What's next for My First Website

I really want to learn JavaScript to improve the quality of my website :) I think the fact that I'm no where near an expert just means that I have a lot of room to improve, whether it be learning another language, or playing around with the languages I have some knowledge in.
