What it does

MediQ is the mobile App and Data Management platform for general public, medical staffs and health authorities. The features of MediQ App include

Personalized Suggestions - Based on age, fever and symptoms – know whether the condition can be improved with medications at home or require immediate hospitalization
Keep data log - Maintain a log of your family’s health – refer to this health history later or share with a doctor
What’s happening in your neighborhood - Get updated information of your neighborhood from the local healthcare authorities. We aggregate anonymous information on levels of local illness to help you react faster
Connect with professionals - Schedule online/offline consultation appointments with health professionals in a push of a button
Connectivity with your devices - Easy to connect with your Fitbit, Apple watch or other fitness Apps to record all your health status

How I built it

MediQ is three faced model. End-users input data into the App. MediQ provides users with above-stated features. Captured data is utilized to predict spread of the COVID 19. Prediction model is used to help Health care authorities in preparing better.

Challenges I ran into

The key challenges while working on this project was to collect the data. Our simulation model works best with the large number of data we could have. This is also necessary as more the data more chances to have correct prediction. Additionally, the margin of errors due to manual feed of the users in MediQ app increases our sensitivity and distortion of data. However, we tried to reduce that issue by automating various steps.

Another key challenge we realized was to convince local health authorities on our suggestions based on predictability. Nascent in this filed not having enough experience caused many doors to remain locked for us. We however being as resilient as we could spoke with many industry experts to become more proficient and gain references.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The more we explored into this idea we realized how wide usage of the app could be. We established contact we provide connectivity with IoT Thermometer, spoke with industry experts on prediction models, saw the challenges of doctors on addressing the patients and how people are still unaware of the right preventive measures.

Working on a solution that will help removing those challenges is euphoric for us, as we are helping in making this world a better place.

What I learned

Working on this project we realized how powerful each individual is in empowering the global community. It also gave a confidence in our capabilities that if we brainstorm and work on something with common goal, we have the power to make this world a better place by bring productive changes in people’s lives.

We try to bring similar vision for our company MediQ that resonates our potential and resilience to fight this COVID19 pandemic. It also made us aware of team dynamics. We are made up of team located in 3 continents and different time zones. However, in past 3 days we worked in total 65 hours to build this project from scratch. Therefore when will is right and focus is sharp things can be shaped out well regardless of any situations.

What's next for MediQ

The expansion for MediQ is endless. However, we are more focused on our core competencies, i.e. to provide our end users with most relevant real time information and aggregate their health status into one place. Our revenue model is reliant on providing consulting services to all the players who are related to win this war against pandemics. Therefore, once we gain enough traction with local health care authorities, we will focus on helping pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, groceries, cleaners, on field health agents etc. to have deeper understanding of such pandemics and prepare better for future.
