Inspiration
We’re living in an age of instant gratification, instant communication and even instant delusion. It forces us to ask the question, what’s left there that is still permanent if we can erase everything so easily, including our memory? During the process of making this, I worked closely with GenAI tools to create the surreal worlds and visions in the story. The process feels less like a traditional process of filmmaking but more like a dialogue with a human intelligence. It's a journey of discovery where the AI and I worked together to find the eternal human truth hidden within the instant process of digital creation. I believe Lucid Forest offers a unique perspective on our relationship with technology and the timeless nature of the human heart.
How we built it
ChatGPT for scriptwriting. Midjourney and Flux to create images, and VEO3 for video generation. Music is made by Suno, combining with recorded natural sound.
What You Learned:
The process of creating this AI short film was unlike traditional filmmaking—it felt like having an ongoing dialogue with artificial intelligence. The collaboration between me and the AI tools became a genuine exploration of how human creativity and machine intelligence can interact, shaping how we might use these technologies in the future of filmmaking.
Challenges You Ran Into:
At the time of production, tools like Sora or Nano Banana weren’t yet available. The biggest challenge was maintaining character consistency throughout the film. The process was full of unexpected results, and a significant amount of time was spent correcting inconsistencies. However, those challenges also taught me patience and flexibility when working with evolving AI technologies.
Accomplishments that You're Proud of:
I’m proud of the final outcome—and of not giving up. The constant process of adjusting and refining felt like a conversation between human intuition and machine logic. It deepened my reflection on the creative relationship between AI and humans, and how collaboration can push artistic boundaries.
What's Next:
Beyond developing new projects, I’m exploring the idea of building an integrated AI creative platform—an “Agent.” Currently, AI tools are scattered across multiple platforms: music from Suno, images from Nano Banana, and motion tools elsewhere. This fragmentation makes the workflow time-consuming and inefficient. My goal is to design a unified platform that brings together diverse AI tools in one place, allowing creators to seamlessly choose, combine, and manage their creative resources within a single interface.
