Inspiration
I like robot suits and I hate caring heavy objects for long distances.
What it does
Assist and perform as a weight distributor to relive strain and prevent injury to the arm and spine.
How I built it
The simple proto-type was built to 1:4 scale to prove concept. The claw/griping tool was built to full scale. The arduino controls the servo motors that control the functions.
Challenges I ran into
Scaling parts I made in Fusion 360 took some time. Also, 3D-printing to a long time.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Fully working proof of function 1:4 scale hiking backpack frame and lifting mechanism.
What I learned
First layer dimension prints save hours and material when checking a newly designed file.
What's next for Lift Assist
Full scale hiking backpack modual that uses low power motors high tork motors to lift a log.
Built With
- 3d-printing
- arduino
