LeKaa - Your neighbourhood assistance app!!

Inspiration

Generally in foreign countries, people buy all their groceries and daily house-hold items for the whole month but that's not the case in India. Here people prefer to buy fresh stuff while treating it as a leisure activity. We saw this as an opportunity to cater to the people who for some reasons may not be able to shop daily. The idea behind Neighbourhood Assistance mobile application is to provide an easy and convenient solution for people in need of daily household items.

What it does?

The Neighbourhood Assistance mobile application connects individuals in need of daily household items with those who are willing to assist with the shopping. With this app, people who are unable to go shopping can easily find someone to assist them, and those who are willing to help can easily offer their services. The application offers a simple, convenient and stress-free solution for people in need of household items, making everyday life a little bit easier.

How we built it

The Neighbourhood Assistance mobile application was built using Flutter, a cross-platform development framework that allowed for fast and efficient development. To enhance the user experience, we integrated the app with Appwrite, a powerful backend-as-a-service platform, as well as Twilio and Google Maps. With these integrations, we were able to provide real-time updates, improved communication capabilities and precise location tracking. We used a combination of cutting-edge technologies and design thinking to bring this solution to life.

Challenges we ran into

During the development process of the Neighbourhood Assistance mobile application, we faced several challenges that required creative problem-solving and technical expertise. One of the main challenges was designing a useful and user-friendly interface that met the needs of both shoppers and those in need of assistance. Another challenge was collecting and organizing the necessary data to support the application's use cases. Additionally, we faced challenges in ensuring real-time updates and listening to changes in the database on the frontend. These challenges required extensive collaboration and communication within our team, as well as a strong commitment to finding the best possible solutions. Accomplishments that we're proud of

What we learned?

During the development of the Neighbourhood Assistance mobile application, we gained valuable insights and learned several new skills and techniques. One of the key things that we learned were the ease of spinning up a backend using Appwrite as well as how integrating with Twilio services can make a product more interactive for the users. We also gained a deeper understanding of the challenges that we face while designing a user-friendly interface and the importance of user experience in a mobile application. These lessons will be valuable in future projects and will help us continue to deliver high-quality products that meet the needs of our users.

Improving user experience by adding more customization options and integrating with more services for a seamless experience, Adding more features to app like Rating, Payment services, Push Notifications and AI suggestions. Adding support for more languages to cater to a global audience.
