π‘ Inspiration
Our team is filled with animal lovers and we all agreed that we wanted a website that the public could use to gain information about the current status of jungle-related activities worldwide.
Thus, we decided to make a website to educate the public about the issues faced by the dwindling biodiversity in our forests around the world.
π What it does
We wanted the website to be interactive yet informative, and can be understood by people of all ages!
π§ How we built it
Our process:
- Ideation and planning: Google Docs
- Remote collaboration and version control: GitHub
- Coding IDE: Visual Studio Code
πββοΈ Challenges we ran into
- We wanted to include many more jungles but didnβt have the timeβ¦
- It took us quite a while to decide which forests to research and include on our site with our limited time
π Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Made a website that is informative on animals, with leaflet, quizzes, and informative pages
π§ What we learned
- Flickity for their carousel
- Better understanding of the format and usage of HTML
- How to create a leaflet
βοΈ What's next for Into The Jungle
- Into The Jungle is only at the beginning stages and has the potential to expand
- More interactive features
- Games, riddles, quizzes
- Music
- Ability to connect with other like-minded individuals who care for the environment and our biodiversity
- More informative pages
- Better animations
- More jungles
- Currently, we have only deployed interactive pages for 3 jungles
