Inspiration

We wanted to create an online "quiz" type website that acted both as a personality test, as well as a tool to learn more about different art styles.

What it does

When you load Hoo Art Thou?, you will be brought to a description page that tells you how to navigate the site. Then, you can "like" or "dislike" various art pieces, depending on your preference. Once you have clicked through all 20 images, you will be shown a results screen that tell you your most liked art style, what that means about you, and other artists to check out!

How we built it

We used HTML with JavaScript to code the site.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into many challenges along the way. By far the largest was the fact most of our team was not familiar with HTML or JavaScript going in. We had to teach ourselves as we went, and consequentially we this caused us to make progress at a snail's pace at some points.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are so proud that, as a group of four first-years, we were able to make a fully-functioning website. Additionally, we are proud that we were able to work very well together, delegate tasks effectively, and market our product successfully.

What we learned

Each of us are now much more intimately familiar with HTML formatting and JavaScript. Additionally, this project allowed us to work on our collaboration skills and exposed all of us to intense, fast paced coding.

What's next for Hoo Art Thou?

We hope to implement an account-creating feature that allows passive users to store their favorite art style. Additionally, small artists could upload their own artwork to the database to get more recognition.
