Inspiration:
Our project story is all about how my 13-year-old son, Terry, and I teamed up to build an awesome, educational website. We brought his imaginative character, Hammy Junior (a cartoon Capybara burger), to life using a mix of cutting-edge generative AI tools and game development platforms. This whole thing kicked off because of our shared history and big passion for new, frontier technology. It was the perfect blend of my knowledge and Terry's youthful creativity.
As an early adopter of both Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Bitcoin, my deep experience in these domains provided the foundational knowledge, while observing my 12-year-old son's intuitive engagement with modern technology served as the critical inspiration. This generational dynamic fueled a desire to build a more accessible and entertaining bridge to complex concepts.
The resulting website is an interactive platform designed to entertain and teach people about the core principles and rapidly evolving landscape of bitcoin, artificial intelligence (AI), and brand building in the modern digital age.
Our project HammyJr.com link, stands as a testament to the power of hands-on learning, intergenerational collaboration, and the effective application of emerging technology for education and entertainment.
What it does:
The website, Hammy Junior link, is an online destination designed for kids to learn about the world of Bitcoin, AI, and Web3 technologies through games and puzzles.
It provides fun, educational games that are playable on mobile phones or desktops. The platform uses engaging, Ghibli cartoon-inspired characters to teach the curious about digital assets and artificial intelligence in a safe and interactive environment.
How we built it:
By leveraging the Rosebud AI game development platform, we embraced a modern, rapid development approach, showcasing how generative AI tools can empower creators of all ages to build sophisticated educational games and content. We quickly went from ideation to design to deployment of the website by combining several other AI tools, such as Supabase for rapid database design and deployment and Hailuo.ai for short video content generation. The website and domain name is hosted on Hostinger.com and built with their intuitive dashboard and website editor, in combination with the afore-mentioned AI cloud services.
Challenges we ran into:
Building this AI-powered educational website with my son, Terry, has been incredibly challenging. As an early adopter, I sometimes struggle to let my 13-year-old’s vision guide the project; I have to remind myself that he knows what’s cool for kids. The AI tools are great for speed, but they constantly generate rough material, forcing us to spend huge amounts of time polishing the code, testing and fixing the website and games to make it look professional. Integrating the finished games and the Web3 features into a reliable website that works on every device is a significant technical hurdle. Plus, our main job was to simplify technical jargon into short, accurate definitions, which is far harder than it sounds. And finally, we have to build trust around our Capybara character, Hammy Junior, ensuring parents believe our platform is safe and secure for their children to interact on hammyjr.com.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
Building this AI-powered educational website with my son, has been incredibly rewarding. We are most proud of successfully bridging the generational tech gap, proving that a father’s deep expertise combined with a son’s fresh perspective can create a relevant and engaging educational product. A huge accomplishment is learning the capabilities of today's AI game development to launch a full-featured website and suite of games. We didn't just use the tools, we mastered them to build a polished, functional product quickly. Critically, we accomplished our core mission: we demystified complex technologies like Bitcoin, AI, and Web3, successfully translating dense concepts into entertaining and accessible educational content for a youth audience. Finally, we successfully launched a complete brand and platform (Hammy Junior), creating a trusted and appealing entry point into advanced technology, which is a major feat for any two person team.
What we learned:
We learned a ton, but the coolest takeaway is how my son and I really started to see things from each other's side, we ditched the "old versus young" judgment and just worked with an ageless flow. Beyond that, we proved that building fun games and a website doesn't have to be a slow grind anymore. Using today's AI-enhanced tools meant we could move fast and actually build the tech with relative ease, letting us focus on the fun stuff instead of getting buried in code.
What's next for Hammy Junior AI, Web3, and Bitcoin Games:
The next moves are to blow up the Hammy Junior brand! We plan to immediately crank out more short, fun AI games with Rosebud.ai and port them over to mobile apps for both Apple and Android phones. Then, we plan to leverage these AI tools to create a stream of quick, funny videos and comic strips starring Hammy Junior for social media marketing, churning out Web3 and AI lessons on a frequent basis. To really build the brand, we plan to sell Hammy Junior merchandise and 3D printed products and T-shirts to turn fans into walking billboards. And finally, we plan to start running community contests where kids use AI to create their own stories or characters for the website, making the whole thing feel like a big club.
