Inspiration
We were inspired by the brave soldiers of r/wallstreetbets holding the Gamestop stock high against the companies of Wall Street
What it does
This game provides a state of the art entertainment experience by combining exciting visuals, great music, and a satisfyingly progression system.
How we built it
We coded our website using html, javascript, and css, and hosted the website using github pages.
Challenges we ran into
Getting the audio to work during the powerup took forever, and we were unable to get a background song playing otherwise. It was also really difficult learning how to have objects flying across the screen and using animations.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of the UI and underlying systems of this website! It was a massive improvement over our previous Hackathon website and we added so many features we have never tried before. Particularly, the animations and music we are very proud of.
What we learned
We learned how to add audio to websites, how to animate, and how to send objects flying across the screen
What's next for GameStonks
We plan on continuing to update and build upon our game. Particularly, we want to add a save feature, "hold the line" mini game, and a scroll bar updating with comments from r/wallstreetbets
