What Inspired The Creation of Fact or Cap?
Like many netizens, we are fanatics of the internet. We love everything from cat videos to internet forums. But the internet has a big problem, a large portion of the internet is misleading, or just doesnt state the facts. This dilemma causes alot of issues, from people freaking out over false information, to potential scams being facilitated through falsified information. Thats when we knew, our HackED project had to do something about this.
How Did We Tackle This Dilemma?
Fortunately for us, there are many tools that can help with this creation! Google has supplied us with a public API that is specifically for fact checking!
Initially we didn't know how to deliver this application. We wanted it to be convenient to launch; there should be no copy pasting, redirecting links, or none of that. The solution had to be something simple and friendly to any age group. Accessing it with Just a click of a button!
Thats when we knew, We had to build a chrome extension. With nearly 3.5 billion Chrome users, this was the best and most convenient way to deliver an app that makes your internet experience safer!
Building Fact or Cap
Building such a tool was not a walk in the park, we had to account for many different possibilities and edge cases.

- Convenience Was Key!
- Safe to Use; No Personal Information Being Used!
With all those structural guidelines in place, we had somewhat of a railing to help keep us on track!
