Description

Engage is a web application developed as part of the ShellHacks 2020 hackathon. It is a platform designed to engage students in their online learning by providing incentives to set study timers and achieve their goals. Try it out! https://engageshell.herokuapp.com/

Inspiration

As students who are currently navigating the difficult situations of learning online, we decided to make a platform that can provide some sort of relief to others experiencing the same issues.

Learned

  • Collaborating through Github
  • Working with new people who share different backgrounds
  • New technologies and frameworks/development cycles

Challenges

  • We are all relatively new so there was a steep learning curve
  • Working around everyone's time schedule
  • Having to think of creative approaches to various problems that arose
