Search anything on the internet, you will have to visit each website like Wikipedia, Google Scholar, Khan Academy etc to look for your information. But it could take a lot of time while switching tabs, finding educational websites like Khan Acadmey, Google Scholar, and educational videos on Youtube. So I built an app which takes your search to the next level.
What it does
It searches your keyword or sentence on websites like Google, Google Scholar, YouTube, Wikipedia, Quora etc such that you don't waste time on finding information by switching tabs and finding appropriate websites first. It ONLY shows you educational as well as trusted websites.
How I built it
I built the app using Kotlin in Android Studio.
Challenges I ran into
The most difficult error was to pass keywords from one activity to another activity and then pass it to the required fragment. It took me almost 4 hours to figure out how to do it.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am proud that I was able to figure out how to implement and pass information within the app activities and fragments.
What I learned
I learned, how to use web view perfectly, how to pass information from on activity to other and pass it to fragments. Also, I got my Kotlin programming skills improved and learned designing too.
What's next for EduSearch
Add more education websites on which students can rely upon and use API's offered by websites to look for answers.
