Inspiration
We wanted to find a way to help others become more aware of their water usage and encourage water conservation, in an easier, user-friendly fashion.
What it does
It takes data from different water sources (sinks, faucets, showers, etc.) in the house, and inputs that data in the Drip app.
How we built it
We built a simulation of user experience using IO in Java, visual plots of data displayed in JavaFX, and the UI with simple animations on Adobe XD.
What we learned
Being that it was our first hackathon (and online too!), we learned about its fast pace nature and the importance of communicating to stay on the same page. Not to mention, sleep is still very important! And drinking water.
Challenges we ran into
Debugging java program and making sure there are no semantic errors, debugging javafx program and make suring all plots are accurately placed, finding a suitable UI program, and learning tools in an unfamiliar UI design environment given time constraints.
