Wegmans API, Twilio, GCP, Amazon Alexa & Food
What it does
It will allow you to pick a website and go through a recipe step by step using your voice with Alexa. It will then alert people by text when the food should be done.
How we built it
We used Node.js, JavaScript, and a lot of trial and error
Challenges we ran into
Our website doesn't actually work without disabling the CORS headers. Getting Amazon Alexa to do anything, formatting strings to be read by Alexa, getting Alexa to play Despascito.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Getting Alexa to work, getting our website online, dealing with GCP not reading our API even though the path was correct
What we learned
Amazon Alexa is very finicky, turning recipe names into strings that are acceptable for Amazon Alexa was a 1 hour endevour
