Inspiration

Due to the increased melting of the ice caps, we wanted to create a web app that would allow users to educate themselves on their CO2 production per year and provide recommendations on what they can do to lower their CO2 production.

What it does

The application takes a users input based on the mileage consumption of their vehicle, whether they receive regular maintenance, the cost of their electrical bill, etc. and provides users with an output of their annual CO2 emissions along with a list of recommendations they can follow to lower their annual CO2 emissions.

How we built it

We build the app using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with Bootstrap

Challenges we ran into

Challenges we ran into were gathering information across multiple tabs and saving it for the formula used to calculate a users CO2 consumption

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of working together as a team to produce a working product.

What we learned

We became more familiar with the process of web development and working together as a team. We also became familiar with hackathon style events, brain storming, and wire frame software.

What's next for Carbon Footprint Tracker

Our next step is to provide more user tailored recommendations Clean up the UI to make it more engaging Provide an information section for users to educate themselves
