Inspiration
Due to the recent storms in Texas, there is an enormous amount of damage in people home's due to frozen and burst pipes. These damages can be extensive and devastating and properly documenting them is crucial to getting the help needed to recover.
What it does
Our app walks people through the steps of compiling pipe damage documentation, asking for necessary information, descriptions, and photos to compile into a final report for their use.
How we built it
We utilized Android Studio to develop this app.
Challenges we ran into
None of our team has had prior experience with Android Studio, so it was difficult to pick up some of the software architecture. Additionally, we had difficulties with the back end sharing of information between views.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of being able to incorporate the camera functionality into the app.
What we learned
We learned that planning and communication is essential to effectively integrating the back and front end development, as well as learning about how to create an app at all.
What's next for Burst
We plan to expand the documentation steps to include question about damaged items, walls, and floors.
