Inspiration

We were wondering why charities didn't have an app that allowed local volunteers to donate or volunteer. With that being said, we wanted to create an app where charities and local volunteers would be able to connect.

There are limited mobile options available where local volunteers are able to donate and volunteer for a local charity. Local charities struggle to find local volunteers and donors through limited mobile platforms. Our app focuses on fulfilling charity needs with local volunteers’ skills.

Why did you pick this solution, and how does it address the problem? (150 word limit)

Our team picked this solution because we wanted to develop an app that gives both local volunteers and local charities the opportunity to connect through a mobile platform. Our app lets residents volunteer and donate to a charity of their choice in their surrounding area after viewing the necessary information. Our app also gives local charities a chance to inform their community about the different volunteering opportunities. Volunteers can donate directly on charity profiles. Our solution addresses the problem because it evaluates the needs of the charity and volunteers, bridging the gap between them and creating a platform where they can find the necessary information.
