BioGuard

  A robust facial authentication system using lightning fast AWS Rekognition for facial comparison and JWT for Authentication purposes.

Inspiration

We wanted to create an easier and more accessible way for users to sign in.

What it does

It uses facial recognition to help users quickly sign in.

How we built it

We used Amazon's Rekognition software and OpenCV for facial recognition, JWT for authentication, flask for the back end, and HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap for the front end.

Challenges we ran into

The challenges we encountered were correctly indexing the user's face, deploying our application via AWS, and dockerizing for Mac OS.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have successfully implemented facial recognition.

What we learned

We learned about facial recognition and how to implement more completed types of authentication.

What's next for BioGuard

We hope to add a single sign-on and deploy our application via Docker and EC2.
