AWS Build On Challenge 2022

Inspiration

We participated in this challenge mainly out of our own interests, and also to explore more about AWS.

What it does

We have created a solution to ZALORA'S problem statement. Our solution tackles on the inconvenience many consumers faced when purchasing goods on ZALORA, notably when the customers are given unfamiliar size guides, as well as having to measure their size measurements in order to ensure they purchase apparels of the correct sizing. In a nutshell, our solution provides these features:

Upon signing/logging in, system allows users to save and store their body measurements in their ZALORA account.
Users can choose to enter their size manually or submit full body images of themselves for their measurements to be analysed and predicted by the system.
Pictorial guides will be provided beside every field to guide users on how to measure accurately
Every time the user enters a product listing, the system will recommend the best possible sizes and fits based on the pre-existing data of the body measurements
If available, 3 fits will be recommended: tight fit, normal fit and loose fit for user preference
Every 6 months, the user will receive a notification from the system to update their measurement for better accuracy upon their consequent log in.

How we built it

Currently, the proposal only includes a simple Figma wireframe with a pitch video and slides deck which contains in-depth information of our solution.

Challenges we ran into

Due to our inexperience with AWS, it was hard to design an architecture solution that works for our solution in the best way possible. However, with my mentor's help, we were able to make better decisions. Another challenge was also the short timeline we had to stick to in order to meet deadlines. Juggling our job and many other things while working on the project was definitely a challenge.
