Project Overview
For this project, we were inspired by how PNC Bank operates today and by identifying gaps that may exist in current banking systems. Our primary goal was to bring together a well-defined idea and produce a solution that:
- Has a clear purpose
- Is visually pleasing
- Is easy to use
Focus Area
We chose to concentrate on the Product Strategy and Ideation category, allowing us to emphasize thoughtful design decisions and real-world applicability over unnecessary complexity.
Technical Stack
The project was built entirely in Java, which helped us:
- Keep the architecture simple and maintainable
- Focus on core logic rather than framework overhead
- Ensure clarity and readability for all team members
Challenges and Learning Outcomes
The main challenge we faced as a team was learning how to incorporate an AI-driven algorithm into our project. To address this, we explored and integrated SerpApi, a software tool that allowed us to:
- Scan live databases
- Retrieve real-time data
- Compare external values with those defined within our project
This experience strengthened our understanding of:
- External API integration
- Real-time data analysis
- Practical applications of AI in financial technology
Mathematical Context
While our project did not rely heavily on mathematical modeling, our comparison logic can be conceptually thought of as
(50% of marketability) + (20% of Fraud Check) + (30% of Vulnerability to PNC) = (out of 100% score)
This equation helped guide our logic throughout the project.
